RAMP signing Gerry Read has compiled the latest XLR8R Mix – inside you can hear a preview of his upcoming EP on Delsin.
Even after dropping a host of well-received tunes in 2011 — most notably, a trio of 12″s for RAMP offshoot Fourth Wave — UK producer Gerry Read remains a mysterious figure. We know that he’s young, just 20 years old, in fact. Yet his dark, twisted take on house and techno sure sounds like the work of someone with a whole lot more experience under their belt, especially given his penchant for stealthily incorporating elements of disco, acid house, and vintage Chicago and Detroit sounds into his productions.
Gerry’s debut album is set to drop in the first half of 2012 on Fourth Wave. Also look out for Presk’s return home to 4th – ‘Hesitate’/'Kook’ 12″ coming soon.
