Release date: Wednesday 10th July

Buy: BandCamp

More info: I’m late writing about this beauty of a 12″ although I’ve been playing the first track from the EP all summer. Enzo Elia drops a hazy edit of Sueno Latino’s ‘Luxuria’ that came into its own under the searing Croatian sun during the Unchained Rhythms boat party at SuncéBeat. His arrangement is sublime, and once caught in the groove, it could last forever. The tracks chosen for this release might be 20 years old, but retouched as sympathetically as they have been, they’ve never sounded better.

Title: Get It Up For Love
Label: Modern Artifacts
Release date: Monday 12th August 2013
Listen / Buy: Piccadilly Records

More info: Tata Vega’s ‘Give It Up For Love‘ has been on regular rotation for me over the last couple of years, so I’ve jumped all over this Heavy Disco edit of Ned Doheny’s cover version, issued via Ashley Beedle’s Modern Artifacts label. It works in a different way to Tata Vega’s 1979 Motown original, stretching out a seductive down-low groove that massages all the right spots.
