Despite being just four releases deep, Sonarpilot Audio have already pulled in some top draw producers to their camp. First Ramadanman (before he went all Pearson Sound on us) flipped ‘Voodoo’ with those ‘Work Them’ style beats, and Simbad soaked ‘Osaka’ with his ambient pads and scattered arpeggios.
Label owner Michael Moppert heads up the first release of 2012 in collaboration with London producer Jonny Miller. Beat Bar regulars will recognise Armon ‘Aybee’ Bazile as the founder of the Deepblak collective and the producer who served the stand out cut on Atjazz’s recent Mist Works release. Here, he twists ‘Freefall’ up with stumbling, metallic drums and reverb-heavy atmospherics.
Lay-Far goes on to ramp up the dubwise original version of ‘LTM’ to a snapping dance floor workout, spliced with sampled conversations and a short jazz-fused breakdown that clears just enough space for the shuffling drums to return.
